Canvas "Escape From The City"

Can I really escape somewhere?

I say, I am a freedom-loving, brave person, close to nature, but almost wild inside, full of life. Definitely not someone who cares about shiny nothings, fancy rags and empty talk. I much prefer silence to the noise of the city, I much prefer the creaking of trees, the raging of a storm, than the bustle of the streets.

And one day I decided to run: to nature, to the forest, to peace and self-discovery!

I took a bus to the last stop, then walked as far as the eye could see for two hours.

I got tired, I got hungry.

Good thing I packed the sandwiches.

But there is nowhere to sit - no bench, no comfortable stone, only damp grass.

I ate while standing.

I saw a bird.

I listened to the wind in the trees.

It got dark, it got cold. And I felt a kind of longing. I was thinking about my friends sitting comfortably in the cafe tonight, I remembered how good it was to talk about the inner freedom of a human being, about the world and the meaning of life.

I want it, - I decided and turned back. I'll still catch the last bus, it takes me to the city center, and from there the cafe is only three steps away.

I sat with my forehead against the bus window, looking at the scary blackening forest: night is not my favorite time. Perhaps pure nature is not my home.

I felt disappointed in myself.

But maybe all is not lost? After all, I saw a bird flying, I heard the wind in the trees.

Maybe I'll go there again the next day.
